Rochdale Council are looking for an Administrator to join their busy Licensing and Public Protection Team on a full-time temporary basis for the next 2-3 months.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator looking to work within a dynamic team delivering a wide range of licensing and regulatory services. Based at the award-winning Number One Riverside offices in Rochdale town centre, you'll play a key role in supporting essential public protection services while providing outstanding customer service to residents, businesses, and partner organisations.
Day-to-day of the role
As an Administrator, you will provide comprehensive clerical and administrative support to the Licensing Section, including:
Providing administrative support across a range of licensing and regulatory functions.
Receiving, scrutinising and processing licence and registration applications.
Offering guidance and assistance to applicants and members of the public.
Dealing with customers at reception, over the telephone and via correspondence.
Liaising with external agencies including Police, Fire Service and other partner organisations.
Processing payments, receipting income and preparing banking documentation.
Maintaining statutory and non-statutory registers and records.
Recording and processing service requests using computer-based systems.
Managing incoming and outgoing correspondence and documentation.
Data inputting, record management and maintaining filing systems.
Assisting with management information reporting and data collection.
Supporting time-recording systems and the administration of office supplies.
Contributing to the development and effective use of IT systems.
Supporting the wider Public Protection Team in delivering key services.
Required Skills and Qualification:
Has previous administrative experience within a busy office environment.
Has excellent organisational and time management skills.
Possesses strong customer service and communication skills.
Is confident dealing with members of the public both face-to-face and over the telephone.
Has good numeracy skills and experience handling sensitive or complex information.
Has strong IT skills, including experience using Microsoft Office and database systems.
Can work accurately in a fast-paced, target-driven environment
